MOCK JURY PROJECT - Oct 07 - Jan 08
Are you aged between 15 and 16 years old and interested in the Law.
Why not join our mock Jury and sit on a trial where you will decide with the group whether the defendant is guilty or innocent .........
This 3 month workshop (3 hours per week) and includes the following:
Workshop with the Police looking at the law through their eyes;
What is the Law - by Simmons & Simmons (International Law firm)
Tour of Highbury Magistrates Court by an acting JP (Justice of the Peace)
A one day workshop in Criminal Justice - by City University students
A visit to the Old Bailey in London to see a live case in progress
A visit to the Inns of Court in London
At the end of these workshops you will be one of 12 Jury members who sill see a trial - as performed by members of the Young Actors Theatre (Islington) where a real Judge will be presiding - you will hear all the evidence and arrive at your decision.
A documentary film will be made of this project which you will appear in and it will be shown to schools and screened at the Barbican Centre on the big screen in front of an invited audience.
